Kevin Stephens charged in Brentwood hockey attack

St. Louis County, Mo (KSDK) -- A 27-year-old hockey player is accused of hitting another person in the face with a stick and fracturing his jaw during a no-contact league game, according to Brentwood police.

The incident happened on October 14, 2012 at the Brentwood Recreational Complex and it was outside of play.

St. Louis County prosecutors charged Kevin Stephens, of Chesterfield, with second-degree assault.

The victim received 17 permanent screws in his jaw as a result of the assault, according to police.
