St. Louis (KSDK) - Pinnacle Entertainment and Lumiere Place Casino and Hotels will make a series of major donations to non-profit initiatives geared toward boosting tourism in the City of St. Louis.
"Partnering with Mayor Francis Slay and national treasures such as the Gateway Arch Foundation, we will continue to promote the growth of tourism in the region and provide new economic benefits to the city of St. Louis and the state of Missouri," said Anthony Sanfilippo, president and CEO of Pinnacle Entertainment.
The contributions include three monetary donations and one gift of land to four different non-profit organizations.
The CityArchRiver 2015 Foundation will receive a $5 million donation to aid the plan to connect downtown to the river and revitalize the Gateway Arch grounds.
The National Blues Museum will receive a $6 million donation, which is the initial contribution for the museum's future fundraising campaign.
Great Rivers Greenway will receive a donation of land currently owned by Pinnacle Entertainment. This piece of land is a key link in GRG's plan for a continuous greenway system in the city.
Finally, the City of St. Louis will receive an additional $500,000 to fund supplemental police activities in the area. The donation will be paid in $100,000 increments over the course of five years, with the city and police department determining how the funds are spent.
"These donations will make a big difference for downtown, the city, and the entire region. I am grateful for Pinnacle Entertainment's corporate citizenship," said Mayor Francis Slay.
