ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public to help with the safety of food delivery drivers due to a rash of attacks on pizza delivery drivers.
Leah Freeman, a spokesperson for the department, says they have released a YouTube video to share tips to help keep drivers safe.
Sgt. Catherine Dennis of Community Outreach is featured in the video and informs the public about possible requests drivers may make of customers, such as calling them back or asking for a porch light to be on so the area is not dark and so they know the home is not vacant.
Customers are also urged to use credit cards and to keep an eye on the driver to make sure they are able to drive away from the home.
