ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Metro Transit led the nation this year with the largest increase in bus ridership.
The American Public Transportation Association says Metro Transit saw an 8.55 percent increase in bus ridership between January 2012 and September 2012.
MetroBus had 22 million boardings, compared to 20.3 million for the same time frame in 2011.
They also had the largest increase for the first quarter of this year, with a 15.6 percent increase in bus ridership.
MetroLink ridership also increased by 4.67 percent for the first three quarters of the year, with nearly 13 million boardings, compared to 12.4 in 2011.
