Vigil for fallen deputy Christopher Parsons.
WASHINGTON COUNTY, MO (KSDK) -- Police have arrested a man for the shooting death of Washington County sheriff's deputy Christopher Parsons, according to Sheriff Andy Skiles.
Parsons was shot and killed early Saturday morning in Mineral Point while responding to a medical call.
Officers released a name and photo of their suspect and spent the day searching for him, by air and on the ground.
The suspect, who has not been charged, was taken to a security check point by people who knew him. He was taken into custody without struggle around 5:15 Saturday evening.
A vigil was held Saturday night to remember Parsons. The 31-year-old had been with the department for just two months. Chris Parsons was originally from the state of Ohio and was engaged to be married.
