EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KSDK) - The East St. Louis community came together to pray for Newtown Monday night.
"We must do better as a society. We must seek out all the solutions we can but one thing for sure. It starts where we are right now by getting on our knees and praying," said Mayor Alvin Parks.
About 100 people turned out for a service organized by Mayor Alvin Parks at city hall.
It included inspirational songs, words from local religious members and a candle lighting.
