JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - A woman found dead in Jefferson County has been identified.

Heather Renee Beckley of Pevely, Missouri was found Sunday morning in a wooded area near Butler Valley Drive and Antonia Valley Court in Imperial.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department activated the Major Case Squad, and 34-year-old Beckley's death is being investigated as a homicide.

There were no indications of trauma to Beckley's body.
