MADISON COUNTY, Ill. (KSDK) - The Madison County, Ill. Coroner says two deaths Thursday may be related to wintry weather conditions and power failures.

Sandra K. Brinker, 63, was found unresponsive in her Troy, Ill. home at 10:18 a.m. Thursday and taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Coroner Stephen P. Nonn says Brinker's home lost power around 8:10 a.m. Thursday.

Shirley A. Spruill, 66, was found dead inside her Alton, Ill. home at 5:07 p.m. Thursday. Her home had lost power around 4:15 p.m. after a tree fell and struck a transformer.

Nonn says Brinker and Spruill had pre-existing chronic medical conditions which required them to receive oxygen from electric oxygen units.
