FLORISSANT, Mo. (KSDK) - As the nation continues to mourn those lost at Sandy Hook Elementary School, a local woman is paying tribute to the victims by doing acts of goodwill in their names.

Fresh Italy is a little place in Florissant known for its pizza and pasta. But now a local couple hopes this will be the birthplace of a tradition that's even greater.

"You are receiving this random act of kindness in memory of Charlotte Bacon, a 6-year-old who lost her life in the December 14th shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut."

The message was a letter, words on paper, but their meaning is so much greater.

Mike and Patty Wieck were enjoying a family dinner on Wednesday night when their server delivered the note.

"And a lady in the restaurant bought all of us dinner. It was a total shock," said Patty.

"She said when they ask for their bill please give them this envelope and tell them that there is not always bad things going on in the world, there are also good things," said server Kim Harris.

"Please take some time and pay it forward. You are number one on my list of random acts of kindness in honor of the 26 people who lost their lives in this tragic event," said the note.

Mike Wieck says at times like this, people need to be reassured that there are angels among us.

The Wiecks say the woman disappeared before they got a chance to say thank you, but they plan to pay it forward and hope the woman's message will inspire others to do the same.

"We were brought to tears over it. It was wonderful," said Patty.

"I've never seen anything like that and it was amazing," said Harris.

Nobody at Fresh Italy knows who the Good Samaritan was, but they did get a good look at her, and the owners would like to invite her back for a dinner on them during their New Year's Eve Party.
