ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KSDK) - Charges have been filed against a St. Louis man accused of pointing a loaded handgun at a St. Louis County police officer earlier this month.
Jerome J. Taylor, 23, is charged with first-degree assault/attempted assault on a law enforcement officer, armed criminal action, and controlled substances: distribute/deliver/sale/manufacture/produce.
Police were called to the 10400 block of Lilac in north St. Louis County December 12 for a suspicious person.
An officer arrived at the scene and attempted to take Taylor into custody.
During the arrest police say Taylor pulled out a loaded 9 mm semi-automatic handgun and pointed it at the officer.
The officer then fired one shot at Taylor, striking him in the torso.
Taylor received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
Bond is set at $250,000.
