GURNEE, Ill. (WBBM/CNN) - A Chicago-area family is fighting the county over their home-made ice rink.
The Lunds built it in their yard and the county administrator says they have to remove it.
The family was given a red-flag violation notice and was called a repeat offender. They had the rink last year too.
A neighbor told a reporter off-camera that the late night games are too loud, but he hasn't complained yet this year.
Kim Lund says the county administrator needs to stay out of her yard.
"To me, it's the principle. We are not violating any ordinances. We have consulted with an attorney," said Lund. "It's more a neighbor issue than anything. To me, he's like the Grinch that stole the ice rink almost."
The Lund family could be fined if they don't remove the rink.
