Firefighters battle vacant house blaze on Indiana Avenue

South St. Louis (KSDK) - A vacant house fire in under investigation this morning by St. Louis Fire officials.

Firefighters responded to the building in the 3300 block of Indiana Avenue, between Cherokee and Utah in south St. Louis, around 4:00 a.m. today.

The two story brick structure was fully involved in fire and beginning to collapse according to fire officials who quickly took a defensive stance in battling the blaze, to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring buildings.

A first alarm was called upon the arrival of firefighters.

No immediate word on what sparked the fire.  There were no reports of any injuries.
