President George H.W. Bush remains in a Houston hospital, but his office says he is recovering -- and enjoying football.
"President Bush's recovery is continuing at The Methodist Hospital, where in recent days he has taken great pride watching big football wins by Texas A&M and the Houston Texans," said the statement from office.
The Texas A&M Aggies -- whose stadium is next door to the Bush library -- thrashed Oklahoma in college football's Cotton Bowl, 41-13.
The Texans won their first game in the pro football playoffs, beating Cincinnati, 19-13; Houston plays New England in the next round on Sunday.
Bush has been in the hospital since Nov. 23 with respiratory problems and other ailments.
The statement added: "While no immediate timeline has been set for the President's discharge, the Bushes wish to thank everyone for their many kind messages."
