ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The Saint Louis Zoo is looking for volunteer FrogWatchers.
These "citizen scientists" will need to monitor frogs and toads in their backyards, parks, or anywhere in order to collect information to help stop amphibian decline.
Volunteers do not need to be experts. Anyone interested should attend a training session at the zoo and commit to monitor a chosen site for at least three minutes two times per week throughout breeding season, which is about February through August.
The training session will be held on January 26, February 23, and March 9 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Registration is requested and can be done online or by calling 314-646-4551. Volunteers should be adults or students entering grades nine and up.
