O'FALLON, Mo. (KSDK) - The O'Fallon Police Department is asking for help from the public to help solve several vacant home burglary cases.

They say there has been an increase in the crimes lately, and the exact dates of the thefts are unknown because the homes are unoccupied and not monitored each day.

The thieves have targeted copper pipes in basements on Winter Hill Court, on Royal Oaks Drive, the 6400 block of Starbuck Drive, and two in the 100 block of Country Life Drive.

O'Fallon police ask that all suspicious activity near vacant homes be reported to the department at 636-240-3200.

Those reporting activity should take note of any important information such as suspect descriptions, vehicle descriptions, and license plate tags.

Police urge residents to observe the activity safely from inside your home and to not confront anyone.
