ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KSDK) -- Four St. Louis Police officers fired shots at a car after the driver tried to run them over and a passenger allegedly displayed a gun.

Police are continuing an investigation that took place around 10 p.m. Saturday where four St. Louis police officers responded to a burglary in process in the 5000 block of Delmar.

As the officers arrived they saw a black male running from the rear of the building into the alley where more black males were waiting in a black or red Ford Thunderbird. The officers entered the alley and started to give orders to the males in the car.

The driver suddenly accelerated and turned the car towards the officers while the passenger flashed his handgun. In response the officers fired multiple rounds at the nearing vehicle that fled the scene. No officers were injured and it's unknown if any of the suspects were injured.
