ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The Environmental Protection Agency will hold a public meeting Thursday on the West Lake Landfill Superfund site.
The 200 acre property is located off St. Charles Rock Road in Bridgeton near the Missouri River and is contaminated by Cold War-era weapons work.
The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. at the Machinist Hall near the Rock Road and Natural Bridge.
Ed Smith, Safe Energy Director for the Missouri Coalition for the Environment, says the Teamsters Union and Missouri Jobs with Justice plan to be at the meeting to oppose the 2008 EPA decision to leave radioactive wastes at the site.
Smith says the MCE expects over 100 people to attend the meeting.
