MAPLEWOOD, Mo. (KSDK) - Wednesday is National Pie Day, and in honor of the odd holiday Heidi Glaus stopped by Pie Oh My in Maplewood for the secret ingredients to the perfect pie crust.
Jane Callahan, owner of Pie Oh My offers these five tips:
1. Pie crust = flour, sugar, salt, fat and liquid.
2. The fat (butter, shortening or lard) should be cut into small pieces.
3. The liquid should be ice cold and added slowly.
4. Don't over handle the dough.
