ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - St. Louis law firm Korein TIllery announced Thursday 89 Missouri cities and towns have received checks as part of a class action lawsuit.
The checks stem from a settlement to reimburse the cost of removing atrazine, an herbicide, from the drinking water supply.
The minimum payment was $5,000, but 31 community water systems received between $100,000 and $900,000. A total of over $10 million was distributed to the Missouri towns.
This is the final phase of the $105 million nationwide class action lawsuit settlement with Syngenta, the largest manufacturer of atrazine.
