ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Tornado season is around the corner, and the Salvation Army's ready to respond with three new trucks.

The mobile canteens will replace older models in St. Louis, Cape Girardeau, and Joplin.

Funds donated by the United Way and Beacon Roofing helped pay for the new trucks.

In addition to responding to disasters like tornadoes and hurricanes, the Salvation Army's canteens serve more than 200,000 meals, drinks, and snacks each year to the hungry.
