ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Mardi Gras celebrations are right around the corner and the Metro Transit is offering special MetroBus shuttle service for Mardi Gras goers to make it to and from the parade safely and conveniently on Saturday, February 9. Passes for travel that day will be valid from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Service will be provided between Soulard and the Civic Center MetroLink Station, located on the corner of South 14th Street and Spruce Street in Downtown St. Louis. The shuttle will run every 15 minutes or less and will drop off and pickup riders at 10th Street and Marion near Soulard Market. You can also park in an authorized free Park-Ride lot.
Passes for the MetroLink go on sale this Friday, February 1 at 9 a.m. and are $5. You can pick up your tickets in advance at 7th Street and Washington Ave in downtown St. Louis. You can also buy passes the day of the event at the following Metro transit locations: North Hanley, Delmar Loop, Central West End, Skinker, University City - Big Bend, Clayton, Brentwood, Shrewsbury, Grand, Civic Center, East Riverfront, 5th and Missouri, Fairview Heights, Memorial, Swansea, College and Shiloh-Scott.
You must purchase the Mardi Gras MetroBus pass if you wish to ride. Regular Metro tickets and passes are not valid on the Mardi Gras MetroBus and Mardi Gras MetroBus Shuttle Pass is not valid for regular MetroBus or MetroLink Service.
MetroLink is also reminding Mardi Gras revelers that alcohol will not be allowed on any form of public transportation.
After 10 p.m., MetroLink will resume normal Saturday night service.
