BURLINGTON, Wis. (NBC/CNN) - In the dark of night firefighters battled an eight alarm fire at a food processing plant in Burlington, Wisconsin.
It started just after 6 p.m. Wednesday night at the Echo Lakes Foods plant, which makes egg products and breakfast foods.
The size of the blaze brought in fire crews from two states and 80 different departments.
Burlington's mayor says the plant has undergone several expansions, creating a "honeycomb" of additions that are challenging firefighters.
Workers evacuated without injury, but there were concerns over possible leaking ammonia and liquid oxygen tanks.
