DeSoto, MO (KSDK) - A collision in Jefferson County yesterday afternoon has claimed the life of a DeSoto man.

Missouri Highway Patrol troopers say a westbound car driven by 84 year old Arthur Guenther crossed the centerline of Highway 110 east of DeSoto and crashed nearly head-on into a pick-up truck that was eastbound.

The crash occurred just west of Upper Plattin Road around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.  Guenther was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The other driver, 68 year old Kenneth Nappier of Bonne Terre was seriously hurt in the collision.
