LINCOLN COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - A Lincoln County Sheriff's Department employee has been charged for embezzlement.

Helen Diane Mershon of Troy has been charged with theft/stealing.

A spokesperson for the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department says the theft was discovered during internal reviews of each division within the department.

Mershon is held on a $75,000 cash-only bond.
