ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - A former teacher for the Missouri School for the Blind is being charged with sexual contact with a student and sexual misconduct with a fellow teacher.
The teacher at the center of the allegations, 33-year-old Jay Mack, no longer works at the school.
The 19-year-old student notified school officials December 6, 2012. Mack was removed from the school the next day, and terminated January 3.
According to the St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office, the sexual misconduct charge was with a colleague. The incident is alleged to have taken place inside his car on December 5, 2012. Mack was bringing a colleague to the school when he allegedly grabbed the woman by the wrist and placed her hand on his penis through clothing, all while apparently talking about the side of his penis both erect and flaccid.
The second incident, involving a student, occurred the following day on school grounds. Prosecutors allege Jay Mack had sexual contact with the victim by placing her hand on his penis through the clothing.
The Missouri School for the Blind assists students ages 5-21.
According to a family friend, Mack has worked at other schools.
Mack is scheduled to appear in court later this week.
