St. Charles, MO (KSDK) - The last of three defendants charged in the horrific sexual abuse case out of St. Charles involving children a woman and her boyfriend were babysitting in 2011 happens later today.
John Scott Thomas III of O'Fallon pleaded guilty to ten criminal charges related to the crimes involving a then 7 month old infant, as well as two young sisters, ages 3 and 5 at the time of the offenses.
Thomas pleaded guilty to multiple counts of statutory sodomy, as well as child molestation, and statutory rape.
Two other people charged in the case also pleaded guilty last November. Thomas' girlfriend, Rebecca Sue Russell was sentenced to 10 years in state prison, and a friend of the couple, Billy Bunch Junior was ordered to serve 15 years in the state penitentiary for his involvement.
The abuse came at a mobile home in the Tee Kay Trailer Park where Thomas and Russell lived just outside of O'Fallon in St. Charles County.
