ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - The final phase of a major road project in St. Charles County will move forward this summer, the Missouri Department of Transportation said Wednesday.

According to Linda Wilson Horn, a MoDOT spokesman, Page Constructors were selected as contractor to build nine miles of four lane divided highway from Route 94 in St. Peters to Interstate 64 in Lake St. Louis.

Horn said the Page Constructors' schedule for Route 364 will have minimal traffic impacts on I-64 and Route 94. Construction begins in early summer and work on Gutermuth Road over Route 364 will be completed August 30, and work on Bryan Road over Route 364 wraps November 1.

Traffic on Route 364 will open in traffic in three phases in 2014:

August 30, 2014 - Interstate 64 to Bryan Road
October 1, 2014 - Bryan Road to Route K
October 31, 2014 - Route K to Route 94

The entire new four-lane highway will open in fall 2014, ahead of schedule, according to MoDOT St. Louis District Engineer Ed Hassinger.

The builders are pursuing deals with Disadvantaged Business Enterprise companies to provide 18 percent of the construction work and 20 percent of the professional services work on the project. Builders are also looking to reach workforce goals of 14.7 percent minority and 6.9 percent female workers per trade.

The $118.2 million cost of the Route 364 Page Phase 3 project is being shared between MoDOT, St. Charles County, the City of O'Fallon and the City of Dardenne Prairie, as well as federal transportation funds.

The funding breakdown is as follows:

$61.2 million from MoDOT
$27.75 million from St. Charles County's ½-cent transportation sales tax fund
$25 million from federal local surface transportation funds
$2.25 million from the City of O'Fallon
$2 million from the City of Dardenne Prairie
