UNVIERSITY CITY, Mo. (KSDK) - A University City School District employee has received an award.
Dr. Jamie Jordan, Principal of Brittany Woods Middle School, has been named 2013 Missouri Principal of the Year by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals.
Jordan was chosen out of 400 other principals considered for the position by excelling in the areas of leadership, dedication, and the unique way she personalizes the middle school learning environment to reach her students, according to a spokesperson with the school district.
Superintendent Joylynn Pruitt elaborated on Jordan's impact by saying, "What I have personally noticed about Dr. Jordan is her commitment and dedication to not only the students and teachers, but also to the community in which she serves."
Pruitt also commended Jordan for her "strong sense of working with struggling teachers and providing them with the tools necessary to become dynamic educator."
Jordan will receive the award at the annual MASSP Spring Conference at the Four Seasons in Lake Ozark, Mo., on Monday, March 25.
