ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Jenna Bush Hager flew into St. Louis to headline a fundraiser for Marian Middle School. The event took place at the Busch Mansion at Grant's Farm.
The event raised $20,000 for the Tower Grove school that is mostly funded by donations.
Marian Middle School serves students in 5th through 8th grade. 95% of the students enrolled come from families who are at or below the poverty line. The kids are in school 10 hours a day for 10 months a year.
Bush Hager, a teacher herself, said "Extended hours are actually a really great way to make sure the kids that are the most marginalized are getting the education they need."
