SAUGET, Ill. (KSDK) --A Ballwin woman, who was serving as a designated driver, is dead, killed in a car accident in Sauget.
The accident happened around 3:00 a.m. Sunday on Illinois Route 3 at the intersection of Yellow Brick Road.
According to Sauget Police Chief Patrick Delaney, Brooke Bahmler, 24, her sister and a friend were headed home from Laclede's Landing, when Bahmler took the wrong exit on I-55 and ended up in Sauget.
Delaney says Bahmler was making a U-turn at a stop sign on Yellow Brick Road when she turned into the path of an oncoming Jeep.
The driver of the Jeep was also injured. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Delaney said it appears that alcohol did not play a role in the accident.
