(CNN) - Country singer Leann Rimes is suing her dentist for not only messing up her teeth, but her career.

The suit filed in Los Angeles accuses Rimes' dentist Duane McKay of dental negligence.

According to court documents, Rimes says that botched dental work caused cosmetic issues and "severe tooth pain, gum inflammation and chronic gum bleeding."

The suit also claims that as a result of her ongoing dental issues, Rimes was forced to cancel tour dates.

A representative for Rimes declined to comment.
