LOS ANGELES (AP/KSDK) - The California Highway Patrol says a 35-mile stretch of Highway 58 between Bakersfield and Los Angeles remains closed and officers will check the road at daybreak to see when they might be able to reopen it.

This is the same storm that will arrive in the St. Louis area Thursday.

Students in several areas of Southern California, including Hesperia, are getting a day off Wednesday because of snow.

CHP officers have re-closed Interstate 5 on the Grapevine because of snow. It is also snowing sporadically in Cajon Pass but it is still open.

Hundreds of vehicles had to stop when Highway 58 was closed after the weather quickly turned white around 8 p.m. Tuesday. Road crews helped drivers exit near Tehachapi.

The CHP says no one has been injured and nobody is trapped in the snow.
