ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KSDK) - A truck slammed through the front glass wall of north St. Louis County business late Thursday afternoon.

According to North County Fire Dispatch, the accident occurred at the Super Dollar Buster in the 10900 block of New Halls Ferry Road, just south of Interstate 270.

Lieutenant Criag Rettke, Ferguson Police Department, said the driver of the pickup truck passed out behind the wheel and slammed on the gas.

Lt. Rettke said that the truck started spinning at the intersection and took off into a strip mall parking lot. The driver, who was still unconcious, t-boned a small car with two people inside.

The pickup pushed the car for several feet until the car was pushed out of the way, according to police.

Lt. Rettke said then the pickup drove up a snow bank and went airborne, crashing through the store's glass wall.

The truck's engine was still running and the driver still unconscious when a police officer, who was in the parking lot when it happened, came to running to the scene.

Police say the officer was able to awaken the driver and turn off the engine.

Two people, including the truck driver and one person from the t-boned vehicle, had minor injuries and were taken to be checked at local hospitals.

The owners of the store said they were closing for good in about two months, but now that will probably be pushed up.

Police said the driver of the pickup does not have any known medical problems.
