ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - A former St. Louis City building inspector has been sentenced on bribery charges.
Anthony D. Davis, 47, was sentenced Thursday to six months in prison and two years of supervised release. He pleaded guilty in October 2012 to two felony counts of accepting a bribe by an agent of an organization receiving federal funds.
Court documents state between May 20 and August 31, 2011 Davis receive several illegal cash payments exceeding $2,500 to pass certain buildings for occupancy permits.
Davis personally completed and submitted written inspection applications that approved electrical work when he wasn't authorized to conduct electrical inspections. He also handled inspections outside his assigned area and gave advice on how to cover up conditions for other building inspectors.
