ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Each year the home and garden show seems to cram more home improvement products into America's Center than the year before.
"We have about 500 companies, about 1,800 booths in 400,000 square feet," said Ellen Viehmann with the Home Builders Association.
That means you could spend hours oohing and aahing at beautiful outdoor kitchens and cool gadgets.
"So all you have to do is steam and wipe," said one salesman.
But chances are nothing will turn your head or drop your jaw more quickly than this statue.
"We need to get one in our backyard now," said one woman watching.
It's not for sale, just for show several times a day. A living fountain that will definitely grab your attention and quite possibly leave you speechless.
Dan Antkowiak does the heavy lifting and well, he hears it all.
"You hear them working all the kinks out in their head like I think it's a robot, but how could water come out of its head and the kids are going that's not a robot it's stone," he said.
What it really is, is heavy and cold not to mention a job that requires ridiculous concentration and composure, no blinking and shallow breathing.
"No, you can't have normal reflexes and responses to things," Antkowiak said.
Luckily it's her job, not ours and who knows in the process of her calmness maybe she'll inspire every grandchild who sees her to be a little calmer and quiet, but probably not.
The St. Louis 36th Annual Builders Home & Garden Show runs through Sunday at America's Center. Admission is $10 for adults and to learn more visit their website.
