Belleville, Ill. (KSDK) -- Two men have been charged in connection to an alleged armed robbery.
Belleville police responded to an armed robbery call in the 200 block of North 12 Street on Friday around 1 p.m. Officers obtained a description of the suspect's vehicle and were able to locate the vehicle in the 1000 block of West Main Street.
Officers followed the vehicle while waiting for back up and then conducted a felony traffic stop, closing East Main Street temporarily. The suspects were in the vehicle and both were taken into custody without incident.
Police say the armed robbery was not a random attack. The suspects and the victim had met previously and it is believed that the suspects planned the event targeting the victim.
George E. Lacey,18, of Belleville, and Joseph C. Harris, 19, of Belleville, were charged with one count of Armed Robbery with bonds set at one-hundred-thousand dollars.
The suspects were transported to the St. Clair County Jail where they remain in custody.
