ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - Details about a new plan to radically change the way taxpayers dollars are spent in St. Louis will be released Monday.

Three aldermen want the city to shift to what's called "participatory budgeting."

People would come up with a list of ideas and priorities for the city, a board would draw up proposals based on those ideas, and they would then go up for a public vote.

Several other cities including Chicago and New York already have "participatory budgeting."

Details for the St. Louis proposal will be unveiled at 4 p.m. at City Hall.
