NEW YORK (WABC/CNN) - The chopped-up body of a 45-year-old woman has been found in bags in the Bronx.
The victim has been identified as Tanya Byrd, a home health nurse.
"A dog walker in St. Mary's Park found a bag, actually two bags in the park, they were separated, ultimately opened one of the bags and found what appeared to be body parts," said New York Police Department Commissioner Ray Kelly.
Byrd's 23-year-old son, Bashid McLean, is in custody and being questioned.
The New York Daily News and the New York Post, quoting police sources, report that he has confessed to dismembering her.
