ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The downtown St. Louis Idiotarod has started.
This event is similar to the Alaskan event where dogs pull sleds across the Iditarod Trail, only it's people pulling a shopping cart.

Teams of five raced around downtown to checkpoints. At each checkpoint the teams must perform a challenge.
Themes for teams are encouraged, and prizes are awarded.
