SWANSEA, Ill. (KSDK) -- Murder charges have been filed against a 37-year-old man for the death of Carmen Boyd.
Kristofer M. McDavid has been charged with first-degree murder.
The woman was found in a second-floor apartment in the 200 block of Marcella around 10:30 a.m. Friday. Major Case Squad Deputy Commander and O'Fallon Police Capt. Jeff Wild said a landlord discovered the body of 50-year-old Carmen Boyd late Friday morning.
Sources tell NewsChannel 5 the body of a woman was found on the bedroom floor with a cut wound on her neck.
Neighbors said the woman had lived alone in the apartment for about a year.
On his Facebook page McDavid describes himself as a god fearing man who grew up on the wrong side of the tracks.
And the day before he's accused of murdering Boyd he wrote a post that read in part, "give a smile. The difference we... want to see in life starts with us, so spread sum luv n happiness today."
McDavid is jailed on a five million dollar bond.
