LINCOLN COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - An accident killed a teen girl Monday morning in Lincoln County.

The accident happened shortly before 6:30 a.m. on MO 79, just south of MO 47.

The Winfield Foley Fire Protection District was called to scene,  and upon arrival found four vehicles with heavy damage due to a chain reaction collision.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report states a 1992 Toyota Camry and a 2004 Ford Ranger were stopped, when a 2008 Hyundai Sonata driven by a 62-year-old man rear-ended the Camry, which hit the Ranger.

The Ranger then spun and hit a 1996 Chevrolet S10 that was parked nearby.

Jillian A. Young, 17, was a passenger inside the Camry. She was pronounced dead approximately 90 minutes later.

Dr. Tim Reller, Superintendent of Elsberry School District released the following statement regarding the death of Elsberry High School student Jillian Young:

"We are all shocked and saddened by the loss of Jillian Young. In an effort to help students and families who may be affected, the district had extra counseling resources available today and they will be available as long as needed. Parents who feel their student may need extra counseling are encouraged to contact the high school office. We also want to let the Lovelace & Young families know the entire district is deeply saddened by this tragic loss. Our hearts go out to them during this difficult time."
