ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - The dean of the Saint Louis University Law School says he is stepping down amid allegations of sexual harassment and offensive comments.

Belleville attorney Tom Keefe says he wasn't fired and wasn't forced out, but resigned Monday after complaints about his conduct came to light late last week.

Keefe was named the interim dean when his predecessor resigned last August citing disagreements with university president, Rev. Lawrence Biondi.

Keefe blames his own political incorrectness and, "big mouth" for getting him in trouble.

"Me and academia are like oil and water," says Keefe.

But some allegations are said to be more serious - like unspecified claims of sexual harassment.

"I know that I say politically incorrect things all the time," said Keefe.  "And I don't say them to hurt anybody. I just say them because my mouth is too big. But, I sure as heck don't have any knowledge or belief that ever harassed anyone," said Keefe.

"What I've been told is that what I did wrong is that I ran my mouth too much. And for that I'm sorry and for that I'm resigning," said Keefe from his office for his private practice in Belleville.

Saint Louis University has yet to comment on Keefe's resignation.
A spokesperson for the law school says they hope to have more information to release Tuesday.
