FRANLING COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) - Authorities say there has been a bust in a major copper theft ring.
Authorities say the thieves had been stealing AT&T phone cable in Franklin County for several months. They were then melting off the plastic casing and selling the copper as scrap.
The thefts were disrupting landline and cell phone service in the area, and caused $140,000 in damage.
Last week sheriff's deputies arrested four men, including 23-year-old Bryan Osborn.
More details about the case are expected to be released Tuesday.
