PACIFIC, Mo. (KSDK) - A man was struck and killed by a passenger train Wednesday night in Franklin County.
The incident took place at the Oliver Road Crossing around 8:45 p.m.
Police say the 20-year-old man was walking on the tracks when the train struck and killed him.
There's no word on how fast the train was going, but it took approximately one mile before it could stop.
Fifty-eight people were aboard the Amtrak River Runner train headed to St. Louis from Kansas City.
The victim has not yet been identified.
