WASHINGTON (AP) - Kentucky Republican Rand Paul has spent hours in the Senate in a filibuster against a confirmation vote for John Brennan, the president's choice to run the CIA.

Rand is a critic of the Obama administration's drone policy.

Rand has been reading from notebooks filled with articles about the expanded use of unmanned weapons. He's snacked on candy but has drunk very little water. Senate rules require him to remain on the floor or surrender it.
