CLEVELAND (WKYC) - It happens every spring, or even sooner. Potholes appear, and crews arrive to fill them. But now, there's a new way to do it, and it can be done all year round.
It uses a patented water-based asphalt emulsion which is modified. It allows you to do it in subfreezing conditions.
That will actually last throughout the season and longer without having to return and do a repair when the weather permits.
Pothole Killers was demonstrating their product to Cleveland and the City of Parma in Ohio.
It's a one-an operation to clean, fill, and seal the pothole. They believe they can fill potholes faster this way than you can manually, with better success.
It's a green operation, with the topcoat made from recycled car tires, and no volatile materials.
There are no wasted materials and the materials on board can be stored for nine months.
Without crews out on the road, it's a safer process, and they say it's less expensive than fixing pothole the traditional way.
