NEW ATHENS, Ill. (KSDK) -- The New Athens police chief who has been on leave for stealing from the evidence room was sentenced to 18 months of probation.
Dallas Hill pleaded guilty to one count of official misconduct for taking an iPad and iPod from the evidence room for personal use last year.
Two other charges were dropped as a condition of his probation.
Hill had to surrender his badge and gun, according to court documents. He also will not be able to receive a pension from his service as an officer.
