12 charged in connection with 'Operation Lovejoy'

BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KSDK) - St. Clair County State's Attorney Brendan F. Kelly has announced charges against 12 people as part of a case called "Operation Lovejoy":

Laura C. Hedgeman, 28, of Brooklyn, Ill. has been charged with armed violence, unlawful possession with intent to deliver cannabis, and unlawful possession of cannabis. She's held on a $200,000 bond.

Earl M. Smith, 31, of Brooklyn, Ill. has been charged with armed violence, unlawful possession with intent to deliver cannabis, and unlawful possession of cannabis. He is held on a $300,000 bond.

Willie C. Brown, 31, of Brooklyn, Ill. has been charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1000 feet of public housing, and unlawful delivery of controlled substance within 1000 feet of a place of worship. He is held on a $150,000 bond.

Andre B. Murray, 26, of Lovejoy, Ill. is charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1000 feet of public housing, unlawful delivery of controlled substance, and unlawful delivery of controlled substance. He is held on a $200,000 bond.

Devin Warren, 19, of Brooklyn, Ill. has been charged with unlawful distribution of a look-alike substance. He is held on a $25,000 bond.

Joshua C. Thompson, 28, of Brooklyn, Ill. has been charged with unlawful possession with intent to deliver cannabis. He is held on a $40,000 bond.

Nathan V. Young Jr., 22, of Lovejoy, Ill. has been charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1000 feet of public housing. He is held on a $75,000 bond.

Demorie L. Pointer, 17, of Brooklyn, Ill. has been charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 100 feet of public housing. His bond is set at $75,000.

Quentin J. Patton, 30, of Lovejoy, Ill. has been charged with unlawful possession with the intent to deliver cannabis. He is held on a $40,000 bond.

Anthony W. Woodson, 35, of Madison, Ill. has been charged with unlawful possession with intent to deliver cannabis and unlawful possession of cannabis-subsequent. He is held on a $25,000 bond.

Amelia A. Boyd, 53, of Detroit, Mich. has been charged with prostitution. Her bond is set at $3,000.

Lori R. Fowler, 28, of Madison, Ill. has been charged with prostitution. Her bond is set at $3,000.

A search warrant was also issued for S&L Rub, located in the 100 block of 3rd Street in Brooklyn in conjunction with charges of maintaining a public nuisance, promoting prostitution, prostitution, and money laundering.

Kelly says "Operation Lovejoy" involved over 10 local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to address criminal issues within the Village of Brooklyn, Ill.

There were also 20 environment citations issued for illegal dumping.
