ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KSDK) -- St. Louis County installed two additional outdoor warning sirens and is tweaking its monthly siren test.

The new sirens were installed in Bridgeton near the intersection fo Fee Fee Road and Carmel Court and in Kirkwood at its Fire Station #2 at 11804 Big Bend Boulevard.

They will be tested during the scheduled monthly test on April 1 at 11 a.m.

The St. Louis County Communications Commission decided to cut back the length of the monthly test from three minutes to one minute based on feedback from the public.

During an actual tornado warning, the sirens would sound for three minutes.

The Outdoor Warning Siren System is intended to notify people outdoors and not to be heard inside homes and buildings.  People who are indoors are advised to use weather radios.
