Missouri Division of Workforce Development awarded grant to help former Hostess workers

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KSDK) - The U.S. Department of Labor announced Monday a grant that will provide training and re-employment services for around 400 former Hostess Brands Inc. workers throughout Missouri.

The $2,183,749 National Emergency Grant was awarded to the Missouri Division of Workforce Development will help the workers from 39 work sites throughout the state, along with Missouri residents who worked at three locations in Kansas and one in Oklahoma.

Workers will receive training and support to find new jobs.

In February 18,000 workers were laid off in 48 states from 864 Hostess locations.
